It is surrounded by residential properties along its eastern and western boundaries. The new school building and the external works will be constructed with the existing school open to pupils, making the phasing of the project crucial to delivery in a tight programme.

The approximate contract value of the school and the associated external works is £6.8m, it is being designed to a Passivhaus and BREEAM Excellent.

Facilities include:
• New build primary school for 210 pupils
• Local Authority Nursery for 30 pupils
• Integrated Children’s Centre - Flying Start
• Facilities accessible to the wider community

The Urbanists primary objectives were to provide a safe and pleasant setting to support the learning objective of young children while promoting curiosity, enthusiasm and creativity. Nature areas and natural play are important to the school, details have been incorporated to preserve and enhance the nature value of the site. The Urbanists have provided Landscape and Planning services from concept through to detailed design.
