Our design concept for Frideswide Square, at the gateway to Oxford from the city’s railway station, has reached another step towards completion with the commencement of the detailed design phases.
The transformation is a major transport and public realm project to change Frideswide Square from a busy and unwelcoming road junction to a well-managed gateway to the city. This work will improve traffic flow, reduce journey times and provide a new, attractive public space with far better facilities for pedestrians and cyclists.
The Traffic Regulation Orders are currently being consulted upon in advance of the enabling highway works and construction during 2015.
The Urbanists have been retained by Oxfordshire County Council to be part of the detailed design team for the square.
