As planning advisors to Gower College Swansea we secured outline planning permission for the redevelopment of the College’s Ty Coch Campus.  The redevelopment masterplan will deliver 17,000 sqm of state of the art education space across an extended campus area that will help the College to fulfil its ambition to become the best college in Wales.

In order to secure the permission we coordinated a team of environmental consultants to prepare environmental assessments to support the application and prepared a landscape strategy for the masterplan. We also worked with the College to ensure that the operational requirements were safeguarded and represented in the masterplan.  Following the submission of the application we engaged with the City and County of Swansea to determine the application, this included the agreement of a s106 agreement

We are now advising the College, via Powell Dobson Architects, on the implementation of the masterplan.  Currently we are working with the Council to secure the approval of the Phase 1 and 2 reserved matters applications, and discharge the pre-commencement planning conditions and obligations.  Phases 1 and 2 of the redevelopment masterplan will consolidate an extended campus area, improve vehicle and pedestrian connectivity, deliver new premises for the business and hospitality departments, create a new conference centre and and deliver landscape enhancements.  Construction of Phase 1 is due to commence in the Spring of 2016.
