Trimsaran School, Carmarthenshire

Proposed landscape general arrangement plan

Client: Dawnus Construction /  Carmarthenshire County Council

Location: Trimsaran, Carmarthenshire

Services: Planning Consultancy, Landscape Architecture

The Urbanists are acting as Planning Consultants and Landscape Architects for a new primary school in Trimsaran, Carmarthenshire.  The project team comprises Dawnus Construction, Architype (Architects), and WSP (Engineers).  The school, of capacity 210 pupils, will be built to Passivhaus standards and BREEAM Excellent.  The replacement school includes a new main point of access, staff car parking, formal play areas, and landscape works.  The location was constrained by the need to retain the operational school until the replacement school is completed.

The Urbanists managed the community consultation process which involved public consultation exhibition at the existing school site.  The project was granted full planning permission March 2016 and the Urbanists are retained as planning consultants for the construction stages, including the discharge of planning conditions.

Construction is due to commence in April this year for completion by September 2017.
