Make better places with us
Due to increased optimism about our forecast of future projects we are very pleased to be looking for talented individuals to join our dedicated team of urban designers, planners and landscape architects.
We believe that making better places is not only essential and important but should always be fun, challenging and rewarding. We want to find people who share our values for making better places and who want to develop themselves beyond their comfort zone and who will help their teammates to do the same.
We’re an Employee Owned business and the team is at the heart of our culture. We want to find people who thrive in a team and who can develop themselves, The Urbanists as a business and the people around them.
If this sounds like The Urbanists could be for you, then read on...
Associate / Director Urban Designer
We’re hoping to find an individual with a passion for places and not only a stunning portfolio, but a catalogue real places that have been built based on their work. We’d like to find someone who can grab a challenging multi-faceted project and turn it into something that our clients can implement and be proud of the end result.
Delivery is critical. Whilst we like to draw and think and ponder, we are motivated by getting stuff done. How you became an Urban Designer with 10+ years experience matters just as much as your outlook and attitude.
Urban Designer / Senior Urban Designer
We have a fantastic team who can develop your design skills at every spatial scale: from City Region level thinking, down to the details of individual streets or buildings and everything in between. Our projects are diverse and inspiring. Our Urban Designers are hands-on and yet part of an energised team. You will clearly want to demonstrate your commitment to urban design and your talents (who wouldn’t?). However, we want to understand what you want to get better at. We can support you to achieve your urban design ambitions and the soft skills of professional development. If you have an architectural background or appreciation of the complexities of the housebuilding industry, that will be a bonus!
Chartered Landscape Architect
We’ve proven we can deliver complex place changing landscape schemes and we have exciting projects ahead of us. We’d like to welcome to the team an experienced professional who feels that now is the time for a fresh challenge. Being Chartered is essential, good project management is a given and work winning should be an aspiration. Finding a landscape architect who has a strong commercial awareness will be important, however, a passion for design is paramount. We will provide the time, support and environment so you will fit right into our team.
Our planning consultancy services are growing and to facilitate this growth we would like to welcome another planning consultant to our team. More than two years experience and Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute are essential. We work across sectors and we are looking for an individual with experience of taking a prominent role in managing challenging applications. Ideally, you will be looking for a fresh challenge and want to grow your career.
