What do you think makes a successful place 'work'?
Distinctiveness and variety – a mixture of social activities and uses combined with interesting architecture and diversity in public spaces.
What is your favourite place & why?
Glastonbury festival- it has an eclectic mix of people, cultures, smells, activities and atmospheres. There's something awe inspiring about the creation of, in effect, a temporary city in the middle of rolling farmland.
What interests you outside of work?
Restoring/repurposing old furniture, which i try to sell but end up keeping! I consider myself a bit of a DIY enthusiast after spending the last year, and probably the next five, renovating my 1920's house.
Where would you most like to visit in the next ten years?
Machu Picchu – it just looks fascinating and beautifully eerie. A fantastic example of ancient town planning and engineering.
What activity to you most want to undertake in the next ten years?
I would like to do something wacky for charity – sky-diving or bungee-jumping, maybe!
