Wren’s Nest, South Sebastopol, Development Brief

Services: Urban Design & Masterplanning

The Urbanists on behalf of Taylor Wimpey were commissioned to produce a Development Brief for the largest of the phases at Edlogan Wharf south Sebastopol. Further to this commission we have appointed to prepare the RM application for the first phase of Wren’s Nest and in the pipeline further work on the next Development Brief. We are currently looking at further Developmet Briefs as well as progressing the Village Core RM application for Taylor Wimpey and Barratt Homes.

The primary aim of this Development Brief is to guide the physical aspects of any future proposals for the Wren’s Nest site and to bring about a high quality development that will contribute to a wider, cohesive vision for Edlogan Wharf at South Sebastopol.

The Brief also seeks to:

Ensure the delivery of the masterplan and the design quality and vision;

Provide a co-ordinated framework to assist with the delivery of a high quality development;

Assist in the detailed design and the decision making process at the reserved matters stage; and

Provide continuity and consistency in quality over time.

This document is intended to be used by designers and others bringing forward the development as a briefing document. It is also intended for development control officers by helping to establish whether a scheme has met the quality thresholds, is in accordance with the Framework Masterplan.
